At Nittany Mastiffs we strongly believe in a balanced Mastiff. We compete with our Mastiffs in the conformation ring to verify that we have correct breed type. We thoroughly test all of our Mastiffs for genetic diseases before we breed them to verify that the parents are healthy and to increase our chances for healthy puppies. We also train and show our Mastiffs in such performance events as agility and obedience to verify that our dogs have the soundness of structure to be athletic. All of these aspects help assure us that our dogs not only look like Mastiffs but they will most likely have healthy, long lives and will be able to be an active member of our family.
